ANTHROPOMETRICSTUDY OF PROXIMAL END OF DRIED ADULT HUMAN FEMUR: A CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY

Introduction: Femur is the longest and strongest bone of human body. Its length associated with a striding gait, its strength weight muscular forces. It comprises an upper end, shaft lower end. Proximal part femur includes head, neck, greater lesser trochanters. Objectives: The present study aimed to record femoral head diameter parameters were carried out which would be help orthopedicians while carrying surgical repairs around hip joint especially in fracture neck femur. Material & Methods: A total 100 North Indian unpaired dry adult femora (Right-50, Left-50) unknown sex studied. Femoral Head Diameter measured osteometeric board vernier caliper recorded centimeters. raw data obtained statistically analyzed. Range, mean, standard deviation, error mean determined. Results: - was found 43.93cm (Right- 44.53cm Left- 43.33cm) range 38.5 – 58.8cm (Right = Left=38.5 51.3cm). 39.35mm 39.86mm Left =38.84mm) 20 47mm 46mm 32 47mm).
